Grönmålning & tillgänglighet - vänner eller ovänner?: En semiotisk bildanalys
2025 (Swedish)Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesisAlternative title
Greenwashing & Accessibility - friends or enemies? : A semiotic image analysis (English)
Abstract [en]

This essay aims to investigate if there is a possible connection between greenwashing in design and lack of accessibility. The essay uses a semiotic analysis to examine two organic juices and two non-ecological juices. Theories such as greenwashing, accessible design theory and Stuart Halls representation theory will be used. The results neither indicate that there is a clear connection between greenwashing in design and a lack of accessibility in such design, nor the opposite. The findings are not obvious, but can provide indications for future research in the field. This could be because of the use of a qualitative selection and therefore the results cant be generalized. he design project for this project is a redesign of Coop Xtras juice packaging. The aim is to use greenwashing in the design to make awareness for both graphic designers when they design, but also for the consumers of how easy it is to believe that something is ecological even if it’s not.
