This is something that is done through Elizabeth Evans and Stefanie Reher´s book Disability and political representation and the anthology Rethinking disability and human rights: participation, equality and citizenship, edited by Inger Marie Lid, Edward Steinfeld & Michael A. Rembis. In the introduction of the anthology the editors state that full participation in society is fundamentally a question about citizenship, defining full participation with the help of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. In this way participation becomes a keyword that needs to be understood.
