Abstract [sv]

Syftet med denna in-vitro pilotstudie är att studera effekten av VOCO kiselkarbidborr på bindningsstyrkan mellan adhesiv resinbaserat 10-MDP-innehållande cement och zirkonia. Material och metod: 30 zirkonia provkroppar, varje provkropp bestående av två delar; en blockformad och en cylindrisk del, var framställda och slumpmässigt uppdelade i tre grupper; Kontrollgrupp KG, ytbehandlad med enbart sandblästring; testgrupp TGSiC, ytbehandlad med enbart kiselkarbidborr och testgrupp TGSiCS ytbehandlad med både sandblästring och kiselkarbidborr. Efter ytbehandlingsproceduren cementerades en blockformad provkroppsdel ihop med en cylindrisk del från en och samma grupp med Panavia V5 adhesiv resincement. Därefter genomgick samtliga provkroppar artificiell åldring i form av termocykling, 5 000 cykler innan skjuvkraftstest genomfördes. Insamlade data analyserades statistiskt via One-way ANOVA, Tukey’s test med signifikansnivå α ≤ 0,05. Brottanalys genomfördes visuellt med mikroskop för att bestämma frakturtyper. Resultat visar att kontrollgruppen KG gav signifikant högre bindningsstyrka i jämförelser med testgrupp TGSiC och TGSiCS (p<0,001). Testgrupp TGSiCS visade högre genomsnittlig bindningsstyrka jämfört med testgrupp TGSiC men ingen signifikant skillnad fanns mellan dessa två grupper (p>0,05). Slutsatsen är att sandblästring med aluminiumoxidpartiklar utgör en effektiv ytbehandlingsmetod för zirkonia.

Abstract [en]

The purpose of this in-vitro pilot study is to study the effect of VOCO silicon carbide grinding burs on the bond strength between adhesive resin-based 10-MDP-containing cement and zirconia. Material and method: 30 zirconia specimens, each specimen consisting of two parts; a block-shaped and a cylindrical part, were prepared and divided randomly into three groups: Control group KG, surface treated with sandblasting only; test group TGSiC, surface treated with only silicon carbide grinding burs and test group TGSiCS surface treated with both sandblasting and silicon carbide grinding burs. After the surface treatment procedure, a block-shaped specimen part was cemented together with a cylindrical part from the same group with Panavia V5 adhesive resin cement. Subsequently, all specimens underwent artificial aging in the form of thermocycling, 5 000 cycles before Shear Bond Strength (SBS) test were performed. Collected data were then statistically analysed via One-way ANOVA, Tukey’s test with significance level α ≤ 0.05. Fracture analysis was also performed visually with a microscope to determine fracture types. Results show that the control group KG gave significantly higher SBS in comparison with test groups TGSiC and TGSiCS (p<0.001). Test group TGSiCS showed higher SBS mean value compared to test group TGSiC, but there was no significant difference between these two groups (p>0.05). The conclusion is that sandblasting with aluminum oxide particles is an effective surface treatment method for zirconia.
