Over the years 'the use of biologics (growth factors) has become more prominent ire daily practice. A plethora of documented research from in vitro, in vivo, and clincial tirals is available for enamel matrix proteins (EMPs) that now spans over two decades. While the goal of chapter 14 was to introduce the bilogic backround of enamel matrix derivative (EMD), this chapter provides clinically relevant indications for the use of EMD in periodontal regenerative therapy.
