Men's violence against women can be seen as a result of the inequality between women and men. The risk of being sexually abused is increased for women with disabilities in comparison with the rest of the population. The sexual violence that women with disabilities are subjected to, or are at risk of being subjected to, remain a relatively overlooked issue. In Sweden, organizations fail to adequately identify and support the women affected. The aim of this study is to create a deeper understanding of sexual violence and the factors that contribute to women with disabilities being a particularly vulnerable group. The method used in the study is a systematic literature review. Previous research in the field is compiled and further analyzed through the lens of intersectionality. The result shows that women with disabilities experience different forms of sexual violence, including sexual violence in intimate relationships, targeted violence from members of the community, and sexual violence online. The factors identified contribute to women with disabilities being particularly vulnerable to sexual abuse is lack of information, norms and attitudes in society, relationship of dependence and lack of support from the surroundings.
