Endless Endtime: A Material Intervention into Paranoid Cybernetics
Malmö University, Faculty of Culture and Society (KS), School of Arts and Communication (K3).
2024 (English)In: Dead & Alive: Reflections on Media / Art / [ed] Kristensen, Lars & Essvik, Olle, Gothenburg: Rojal Press , 2024, p. 25-30Chapter in book (Other (popular science, discussion, etc.))
Abstract [en]

This book is the result of trying to capture the disparate nature of dead media and to present it in yet another edited collection, but within a different casting form. Instead of issuing a call for contributions, we chose the approach of soliciting authors who we knew would bring different perspectives and approaches to artistic practices, media sociology and technological speculation. Coming from different traditions – art making and media studies – we deliberately sought to bring in perspectives that at first glance seemed out of step, or sometimes even in collision, with each other. Readers of the book will no doubt find this disparity frustrating, or even irritating, but hopefully also exciting and dynamic. Art and technology can intertwine in many different ways, and we wanted to highlight this nature.
