Abstract [en]

The purpose of this evaluation of knowledge is to examine how teachers can work with LGBTQ, heteronormativity and fiction in the Swedish language classroom. Our question is:“How can teachers use fiction in the education to work with LGBTQ-questions and heteronormativity to challenge the heteronorm?” To find answers to our question we read several articles and other scientific literature. We compared the sources with each other. For example we found a lot of writers that agreed with each other when it comes to pedagogic opinions. One thing most of the writers agreed on was that it is important to choose literature that the students can relate to. Though it is still important to challenge the students with different perspectives. For example are reading logs and discussions two things that are good methods when students work with LGBTQ, heteronormativity and fiction. We came to the conclusion that teachers can use both heteronormative and non-heteronormative fiction in the Swedish langugage classroom, as long as the teacher works deliberate with the heteronorm and LGBTQ.
