Abstract [en]

This synthesis is inspired by the fact that video games are vastly popular today, and digital resources are frequently used in the classroom. The purpose of this synthesis is to examine how digital games influence learning in an educational setting with a focus on vocabulary acquisition and learner motivation. The focus group is varied; thus, we do not look at a specific age. Our findings show that video games facilitate vocabulary acquisition and increase learner motivation by providing a low affective filter, and by promoting intrinsic and integrative motivation.
