Abstract [sv]

I Sverige utförs årligen cirka 3500 amputationer.

The literature searches were conducted through the databases CINAHL, PubMed and PsycINFO. The quality assessment was performed by using a protocol for qualitative articles. Result: The amputees experienced loss of independence and negative change in their body image. They experienced difficulties in adjusting to daily and leisure activities. Factors influencing their daily life after the amputation were prosthesis, social support and coping strategies.
