Psoriasis är en kronisk inflammatorisk hudsjukdom. Cirka två procent av Sveriges befolkning har sjukdomen. Syftet med denna litteraturstudie är att beskriva hur det är att leva med psoriasis. Resultatet baserades på åtta vetenskapliga artiklar, vilka systematiskt söktes och kvalitetsbedömdes av Carlsson & Eimans (2003) bedömningsmall. Resultatet visade att psoriasis patienternas livskvalitet påverkades negativt i de dagliga aktiviteterna samt i sociala relationer. Carnevalis (1999) omvårdnadsmodell, användes som stöd för att belysa resultatet. Det påvisades att psoriatikernas inre och yttre resurser påverkades av sjukdomen. Sjuksköterskan har en betydelsefull roll för patienter med psoriasis. Genom att identifiera resurser, samt urskilja vilka insatser som krävs, kan psoriatikerns livskvalitet befrämjas.

Psoriasis is a chronic inflammatory skin dieses. About two percent of the Swedish people have the disease. The aim of this literature review is to describe how it is to live with psoriasis. The result was based on eight scientific articles, which systematical were searched and examined by Carlsson & Eimans (2003) model of judgments. The result showed that quality of life is negatively affected in activities of daily life and social relationships. Carnevalis (1999) model of care was used supportively to reflect the result. It was showed that the patient’s inner and external resources were affected by the disease. The nurse has an important role to play for patients with psoriasis. By identifying the psoriasis patient’s resources, and to find out which achievements that is necessary, the quality of life may be affected in a positive way.
