My survey is about how people with foreign backgrounds are presented and what characteristics are attributed to articles from Svenska Dagbladet and Dagens Nyheter. I study how this has change between 1994 and 2014. The reason for the these years is that the political situation changed during this time i Sweden. I have focusing on the postcolonial theory and Jesper Strömbäcks framing theory. I use etos and modality as my tools to analyzes the articles combine with my theories. The analysis shows that people with foreign backgrounds are presented as something different that can be described as ”the others” and are associated, among other things, as victims, criminals and heroes.
