Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

This study investigates how the real estate broker finds a balance between work and privacy. The purpose of the work is to investigate the real estate broker's relationship between work and privacy, how they find a balance in everyday life and how they work to reduce the stress experience. The essay is based on a qualitative study of semistructured interviews conducted on selected real estate agents in southern Sweden. The result of this study shows that the flexibility within the brokerage industry contributes both to advantages and disadvantages to finding a balance within and outside the workplace. As with Grönlund's study, the results of the interviews indicate that real estate agents with young children experience a greater conflict between work and private life compared to single brokers without children. In addition, we could find that social support could reduce the conflict and contribute to an increased balance in life.
