Denna studie undersöker kvinnor i åldrarna 52–66 och deras förhållningssätt till sina egna arkiverings- och delningspraktiker av familjefotografier, med utgångspunkt i skiftet från analogt- till digitalt foto och dagens fotografiska praktiker med mobilkameran som verktyg. Genom sex kvalitativa intervjuer och teorierna hemmaformad kommunikation, Kodak-kultur, remediering, transparent media och hypermedia blev det möjligt att rama in respondenternas fotografiska praktiker. Det gick att utskilja hur delningspraktiker förändras och påverkas av sociala medier samt direktkommunikation via meddelandefunktioner, och hur dessa möjligheter skapat nya förhållningssätt inför delning. Vidare gick det också att se en rad skillnader mellan analoga och digitala arkiveringsmetoder, där bland annat mängden fotografier var ett av de signifikanta, samt hur affektionsvärdet inför de olika arkiven varierade. Avslutningsvis ger undersökningen en bild av hur respondenternas ser på sina olika fotografiska arkivs bevarande och fortlevnad.

This study examines women in the age 52-66 and their approach to their own archive and sharing practices of family photos, based on the shift from analogue to digital photography and today’s photographic practices with camera phones as tool. By using six qualitative interviews and the theories home mode communication, Kodak culture, remediation, immediacy and hypermediacy the study frames the respondent’s photographic practices. It was possible to discern how the sharing practices are changing and evolving due to social medias and online sharing through direct messages and how these possibilities have created new approaches to sharing. Furthermore, it was possible to see a variety of differences between analogue and digital archive methods, where the quantity of photographs was one of the significant factors, and how the affection towards the different archives varied. Lastly this study contributes on an understanding of the respondents’ approach and thoughts on their photographic archives perseverance and survival.
