Som ett resultat av att smartmobilen blivit en allt viktigare del av människans liv har utvecklingen av mobilapplikationer som förenklar vardagen för deras användare ökat. En av dessa mobilapplikationer är Let’s Talk, vilken tillgängliggör språkträning för personer som vill lära sig svenska. Denna uppsats syftar till att, genom ett medietekniskt perspektiv, undersöka hur applikationers användare upplever mobilapplikationen i relation till deras förväntningar och erfarenheter. Uppsatsen ämnar även undersöka om, och i så fall hur, det föreligger skillnader i uppfattning av applikationen mellan olika användare. För att få en heltäckande och fördjupad bild av Let’s Talk och dess innehåll genomfördes åtta kvalitativa intervjuer, med deltagare från appens två användargrupper, där både tänka-högt- och walkthrough-metoden användes. Detta gav uppsatsens intervjudeltagare möjligheten att dela sina uppfattningar medan de stegvis gick igenom applikationens alla delar. Resultaten från de empiriska undersökningarna visade att det trots god design förelåg bristfälliga funktioner inom mobilapplikationen som ledde till att användarnas höga förväntningar inte tillfredsställdes. Det gick även att se att applikationens hastighet spelade stor roll för användarupplevelsen, där funktioners påtagliga fördröjningar påverkade användarna negativt och gav en ovilja att fortsätta använda applikationen.

As a result of the smartphone becoming an important part of people’s lives, the development of mobile phone applications that make the lives of their users easy, has increased. One of these mobile phone applications is Let's Talk, with the purpose for people who want to learn Swedish. This essay aims to investigate how application users’ experience the mobile application in relation to their expectations and perceptions. The essay is also intended to evaluate whether there are differences in experiences of the application between different users. To get a comprehensive and in-depth picture of Let's Talk and its content, eight interviews were conducted using both the think-aloud and walkthrough method. This gave the participants an opportunity to share their opinions about the app while they walked through all the parts of the application. The results of the experiential studies showed that despite the good design, some defective features in the app showed result that despite the users’ high expectations, they were not satisfied. The speed of the app also played a major role in the user experience, where the delays of the function really impacted the users in a negative way, and gave some sort of resistance to continue using the application.
