Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

This study examines and discusses the motivation and job satisfaction experienced by four previous students from the program Produktionsledare: Media at Malmo University along with how two media companies in Malmo work with motivation and job satisfaction for their employees. The purpose of the study is to identify different factors that can lead to a higher job satisfaction and motivation among the workers in the media industry. The study is a qualitative study and the method used during the collection of data are interviews with six respondents, where four of those individuals have previously studied the program, Produktionsledare: Media at Malmo University along with two individuals from two separate media companies. Two central theories applied in the study are Herzbergs two factor theory and Warrs vitamin model. The results show that the main factors that motivate the individual is the daily work tasks, feedback, and company culture. These factors are part of the vitamin model's group AD that can damage the individual in too large of a dosage. These factors can also be applied in Herzbergs two factor theory which show that the study's results align with the theories.
