Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

The WELL Building Standard is a new building certification which focuses on the long term effects on health and wellbeing. The aim of this study was to put together useful observations from the certification process in the first two Swedish office buildings, Eminent and Epic, which have worked with WELL Building Standard v1, Core and Shell. This project is a case study where information has been collected through qualitative interviews with key players in the certification process and through a literature study about WELL, project management and Building Information Modelling. The fact that WELL is new and that the criteria are based on American building standards has caused a lot of work in the projects. A lot of time was spent translating and verifying features. This is however something that will decrease in future projects. If the owner is committed and gives priority to integrated process and working with the visions of the healthy building, working with WELL can encourage the project members to be innovative in creating solutions which have positive long term health effects. The challenge is to do this in traditional project organizations where actors have short time commitments and demand distinct delimitations for their assignments.
