Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

In the early 90-ies Sweden entered a period of economic crisis that immediately struck producers of both art and popular culture. This crisis resulted in new forms of production and presentation of creativity in all forms. Fanzines and alternative gallery spaces boomed and a new generation of artists entered the scene. Another shift was marked by IT and new media, that from now on started to play an important rôle in both art, aswell as society in general. In Malmoe, a handful of comic artists formed an alliance and the term "City of Comics", was coined. This eventually led to the founding of The Comics art school in Malmoe.
