This is an open access title available under the terms of a CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 License. It is free to read, download and share via Elgaronline.com, thanks to generous funding from The Swedish Research Council for Health, Working Life and Welfare (2019-01278). This pioneering book compares public administration in two distinct countries to examine the development of a new form of bureaucratisation. Taking a mixed-method empirical approach, Karl Löfgren and Patrik Hall explore the differences and commonalities in this intriguing global phenomenon.
