Bildlärarens digitala kompetens i klassrummet

Visual art teachers’ digital literacy in the classroom (English)
Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

The aim of this study is to investigate how visual art teachers’ digital competence is expressed in teaching according to previous research. The study is conducted as a systematic literature review based on four empirical studies and five sources which creates the contextual base. The results show that visual art teachers generally report a relatively high level of digital competence, but that in practice it is often used in a limited and mainly supportive way, such as presentation, planning, and information retrieval. The use of digital tools for creative work and deeper learning occurs to a lesser extent. The study also shows that teachers’ perceived competence, access to professional development, and organizational conditions play an important role in how digital tools are integrated into teaching.Overall, the results indicate that digital competence in visual arts education should be understood as a didactic and organizational issue rather than merely a technical skill.
