As AI has developed to be able to produce increasingly complex and realistic images, the question whether there will be any need for illustrators in the future is often being asked. Will there even be any skilled artists in the future? Who wants to spend years of training on an ability that AI can easily trump by creating customized experiences on an individual level, at the fraction of the time cost. But is the task of the image really to satisfy presumed needs calculated by algorithms, and can an AI image be compared with images produced by humans.
