I Sverige är alla som arbetar inom förskolan skyldiga enligt lag att göra en orosanmälan till socialtjänsten vid oro för eller misstanke om att ett barn far illa. Även om orosanmälningar generellt tycks öka, kan socialsekreterare i olika kommuner runt om i landet se att förskolepedagoger inte orosanmäler i den mån de borde göra. För att kunna något åt detta behövs kunskap om vilka faktorer som kan få förskolepedagoger att tveka eller att helt avstå från att göra en orosanmälan och lika så vilka faktorer som motiverar till att göra en orosanmälan när det behövs. Detta blev utgångspunkten för denna studie med syftet att undersöka hur processen från den första oron fram till en eventuell orosanmälan ser ut och upplevs av förskolepedagoger. Studien var kvalitativ och data insamlades genom semistrukturerade djupintervjuer med fem förskolepedagoger arbetandes på olika kommunala förskolor i Malmö. Resultatet visade att flera av intervjupersonerna kämpade med ambivalensen kring om oron verkligen var något att orosanmäla och vad konsekvenserna skulle bli för barnet, relationen med vårdnadshavarna och pedagogen själv. Det framkom också att stöd från kollegor och ledning var viktigt för att underlätta processen för den enskilda pedagogen speciellt när det landade i en orosanmälan. De som hade upplevt att de stod ensamma i processen och beslutet att anmäla påverkades fortfarande negativt av det trots att det kunde ha gått många år sedan det hände. Dock uttryckte samtliga att omsorgen om och fokuset på barnet gjorde processen och beslutet att göra en orosanmälan när så krävdes, lättare och självklar.

In Sweden, everyone who works in preschools is obliged by law to make a report of concern to the social service if there is concern or suspicion that a child is or may be at risk of harm. Although reports of concerns generally seem to be increasing, social workers in various municipalities around the country can see that preschool teachers are not reporting concerns to the extent that they should. In order to be able to do something about this, knowledge is needed about which factors may make preschool teachers hesitate or completely refrain from making a report of concern, but also which factors motivate them to make such a report when necessary. This became the starting point for this study with the aim of investigating how the process from the first concern to a possible report of concern is perceived by preschool teachers. The study was qualitative and data was collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews with five preschool teachers working at different municipal preschools in Malmö. The results showed that se-veral of the interviewees struggled with ambivalence about whether the concern was really something worth reporting and what the consequences would be for the child, the relationship with the guardians and the preschool teachers themselves. It also emerged that support from colleagues and management was important to facilitate the process for the individual preschool teacher, especially when it resulted in a report of concern. Those who had felt they were alone in the process and the decision to report were still negatively affected by it even though several years could have passed. However, they all expressed that the care for and focus on the child made the process and the decision to make a report of concern when required easier and obvious.
