Problematic school absenteeism is a complex problem both international and nationally. This subject is widely discussed through different perspectives, and therefore has the aim of this qualitative study been to explore the perspective from student health personnel. Our aim has been to study different risk factors, methods and how the student health team personnel perceive collaborating with other social institutions regarding problematic school absenteeism. The empirical data from this qualitative study is collected by eight semi structured interviews with student health team personnel in Malmö. The results suggest that the schools operated with different resources to aid the students. This resulted in different methods used and arose in different kinds of risk factors. The results also showed that the student health team personnel were unanimous in describing the importance of synergy between parents, the school and/or other institutions.
