Cable Management for Transmission of Electricity from Energy Collector to Vehicle. (engelsk)
Abstract [en]

Electric vehicles (EVs) is a sustainable alternative to internal combustion engine vehicles, with the added benefit of greater personal mobility than public transportation. However, long charging times remain a key barrier to broader adoption. One proposed solution is continous charging, whiche nables EVs to charge while in motion. This approach introduces several engineering challenges, including the need for efficient cable management to transmit power from a laterally moving energy collector, as it moves to compensate for road curvature and imperfect driving, to the stationary vehicle system.

This thesis presents a cable management solution for continuous energy transfer during vehicle operation, developed using product development methods, computer-aided design, and simulation. The proposed solution must meet strict technical and market requirements to succeed in a competitive industry. The ultimate goal is to support the implementation of dynamic charging infrastructure, thereby reducing EV battery size and cost and promoting wider adoption of electric mobility.
