Syftet med studien är att analysera den retoriska argumentationen i utvalda artiklar i svensk press som rapporterar om situationen på SUS för att på så sätt belysa hur medierna i sin roll som agendasättare är med och formar den offentliga sjukvårdsdebatten. Detta studeras genom en retorisk metod tillsammans med ett retoriskt dispositionsschema samt appellformerna. Det retoriska dispositionsschemat har utvecklats med hjälp av de teoretiska perspektiven risksamhället, makt samt dagordningsteori för att lättare få en förståelse för materialet. Materialet består av 21 tidningsartiklar från Aftonbladet, Sydsvenskan och Läkartidningen. Den retoriska argumentationen analyseras i utvalda artiklar för att undersöka hur svensk press rapporterar om situationen på SUS. I studien visar det sig att analysen och de budskap som framställs i respektive artikel bidrar till den retoriska argumentationen. Medierapporteringen är med och bidrar till den offentliga sjukvårdsdebatten på olika sätt. Delvis genom att uppmärksamma och belysa risker, men samtidig även ignorera andra. Med hjälp av dagordningsteorin har materialet visat att media är med och formar den offentliga sjukvårdsdebatten. Utifrån de maktperspektiv som applicerats i studien är det svårt att dra slutsatsen om att de tidningar som valts ut är med och reproducerar olika maktförhållande, även om media anses var den tredje statsmakten.

The purpose of the study is to analyze the rhetorical arguments in selected articles in the Swedish press that report on the situation at SUS in order to elucidate how the media in its role as an agenda participant and shape the public health debate. This is studied through a rhetorical method together with a rhetorical outline scheme and the forms of appeal. The rhetorical disposition scheme has been developed using the theoretical perspectives of risk society, power and agenda theory in order to more easily gain an understanding of the material. The material consists of 21 newspaper articles from Aftonbladet, Sydsvenskan and Läkartidningen. The rhetorical reasoning is analyzed in selected articles to investigate how the Swedish press reports on the situation at SUS. The study shows that the analysis and the messages presented in each article contribute to the rhetorical argumentation. The media reporting contributes to the public health debate in various ways. Parly by paying attention and highlighting risks, but at the same time ignoring others. With the help of agenda theory, the material has shown that the media is involved in shaping the public health debate. Based on the power perspectives applied in the study, it is difficult to conclude that the selected magazines are part of and reproduce different power relations, even though the media is considered the third state power.
