Samverkan i interprofessionella team anses idag nödvändigt för att optimera vården och maximera kompetensen för att möta utmaningarna i dagens komplexa vård. För att kunna samverka i interprofessionella team behöver studenter inom vårdprofessioner däribland sjuksköterskor förberedas under sin utbildning. Tidigare forskning visar att faktorer såsom kön och typ av utbildning har betydelse för studenters beredskap för interprofessionellt lärande. Det finns även indikationer om att personlighet skulle kunna ha betydelse för lärande men i relation till interprofessionellt lärande är forskningen mycket begränsad.

Personlighet påverkar tankar, känslor och beteende och bidrar till människors olikheter. Aktuellt projekt avser att generera kunskap om personlighetens betydelse för beredskapen till interprofessionellt lärande. Genererad kunskap kan komma att ligga till grund för att utveckling av instruktioner och förberedelser inför sjuksköterskestudenters verksamhetsförlagda utbildning då samverkan i interprofessionella team ska tränas.

Abstract [en]

Collaboration in interprofessional teams is considered necessary in order to optimize healthcare and maximize competence to meet the challenges of today's complex care. Previous research has shown that interprofessional learning prepares students for future collaborative work. Furthermore, readiness to interprofessional collaboration seems to be related to biological sex and education. Personality traits are clearly related to group dynamic and performance, but less is known about the influence of personality on nursing students’ readiness for interprofessional learning.

The current project aims to generate knowledge of nursing students’ readiness for interprofessional learning in association with personality traits. The generated knowledge could contribute to altered preparations and instructions prior to the clinical placement where interprofessional learning is practiced.

Abstract [en]

Background: Involving family members in the care process leads to higher-quality patient care. However, this requires collaboration among various healthcare professionals. At interprofessional training wards, healthcare students learn to work together across different disciplines. However, there is limited knowledge about family members’ involvement in the patient care process during interprofessional education in clinical settings. Aim: This study aimed to explore family members’ experience of involvement in the patient care process on an interprofessional training ward. Method: An inductive content analysis was applied on data from individual interviews with 19 family members of patients admitted to an interprofessional training ward.Results: Family members experienced that they had to be involved in the patient care process to bridge knowledge between the patient and the interprofessional student team in order to influence healthcare and have control over the situation. Moreover, they wanted to be acknowledged as family members and needed transparency in the patient care process. Family members’ involvement was governed by the patient’s needs and influenced by the degree of trust in the interprofessional student team. Conclusion: Interprofessional education activities should focus more on family members’ involvement in the interprofessional training ward.
