    Abstract [sv]

    Denna studie undersöker unga vuxnas perspektiv på integritet och säkerhet inom ramen för övergången till ett kontantlöst samhälle i Spanien. Med fokus på hur digitala betalningsmetoder påverkar individernas personliga uppgifter och deras uppfattning om säkerhet, genomfördes en kvalitativ studie bestående av semistrukturerade intervjuer med unga vuxna i Spanien.  Resultaten från studien indikerar att även om digitala betalningslösningar uppskattas för deras bekvämlighet och effektivitet, kvarstår betydande farhågor kring datasäkerhet och skydd av personlig information. Unga vuxna uttrycker en blandad känsla av acceptans och motstånd, där många är oroliga för hur deras personliga och finansiella information hanteras av teknikföretag och finansiella institutioner. Denna oro accentueras av incidenter relaterade till dataläckor och bristfälligt integritetsskydd, vilket understryker behovet av striktare reglering och transparens i hanteringen av personuppgifter.

    Abstract [en]

    Tracking a person’s activities is relevant in a variety of contexts, from health and group-specific assessments, such as elderly care, to fitness tracking and human–computer interaction. In a clinical context, sensor-based activity tracking could help monitor patients’ progress or deterioration during their hospitalization time. However, during routine hospital care, devices could face displacements in their position and orientation caused by incorrect device application, patients’ physical peculiarities, or patients’ day-to-day free movement. These aspects can significantly reduce algorithms’ performances. In this work, we investigated how shifts in orientation could impact Human Activity Recognition (HAR) classification. To reach this purpose, we propose an HAR model based on a single three-axis accelerometer that can be located anywhere on the participant’s trunk, capable of recognizing activities from multiple movement patterns, and, thanks to data augmentation, can deal with device displacement. Developed models were trained and validated using acceleration measurements acquired in fifteen participants, and tested on twenty-four participants, of which twenty were from a different study protocol for external validation. The obtained results highlight the impact of changes in device orientation on a HAR algorithm and the potential of simple wearable sensor data augmentation for tackling this challenge. When applying small rotations (<20 degrees), the error of the baseline non-augmented model steeply increased. On the contrary, even when considering rotations ranging from 0 to 180 along the frontal axis, our model reached a f1-score of 0.85±0.110.85±0.11 against a baseline model f1-score equal to 0.49±0.120.49±0.12.

    Abstract [en]

    This paper analyzes the current possible implementations and limitations of generative AI applications such as Chat-GPT, DALL-E, and Midjourney. The applications were used in a specific scenario to gauge whether it was able to effectively handle a potential request from a client, the scenario was to create a visual identity for a shoe company called WalkWise. The creations are then analyzed using Gestalt theories of perception and the machine-learning mechanisms that run these applications. To understand just how graphic designers may introduce these tools into their process, a process chart describing a typical graphic design process for a project has been created using data gathered from 8 professionals in the field who were interviewed. Using a thematic analysis, common occurring themes/activities were found and visualized in a process chart. The process was later analyzed using theories in process value analysis. Using all this information a conclusion was made that AI-generated art has several limitations that inhibit it from completely replacing human designers. These included: not understanding/generating vector graphics, not understanding objects in 3D space from less natural angles, often generating visual clichés, some potential copyright issues, and not being able to generate words. The implementation was therefore limited to a visual brainstorming tool which could aid graphic designers in quickly visualizing an idea or visualizing several different versions of one idea without having to sketch these differences, thereby making the idea-generating parts of the process more efficient.

    Digital health and welfare technologies and artificial intelligence are proposed to revolutionise healthcare systems around the world by enabling new models of care. Digital health and welfare technologies enable remote monitoring and treatments, and artificial intelligence is proposed as a means of prediction instead of reaction to individuals' health and as an enabler of proactive care and rehabilitation. The digital transformation not only affects hospital and primary care but also how the community meets older people's needs. Community care is often provided by informal and formal care-givers, most of whom are women. Gender equality is at the heart of many national strategies, but do all genders have equal rights, responsibilities and opportunities when it comes to community care and its digital transformation? The digital transformation of community care is entangled with how care is provided to older people and the working conditions of community-care professionals. Current and, even more so, future community-care systems are and will be partly constituted by networks of technological artefacts. These health and welfare technological artefacts and the discourse surrounding them mediate and constitute social relations and community care. This article looks into how health and welfare technology and artificial intelligence-based devices and systems mediate and constitute gender relations in community care and presents an argument for reflexivity, embodiment, pluralism, participation and ecology as an alternative strategy to treating community care as one-size-fit-all and being blind to gender-related issues.

    Abstract [en]

    The last couple of years has seen a rapid growth in smart devices. The smart devices are exponentially gaining more popularity both as a complement to our daily lives in the form of IoT products aiding in our everyday tasks and as a way we communicate and work. An estimation of 75.44 billion devices will be connected to the internet by 2025. With the rapid development and normalization of IoT devices, questions regarding privacy has never been more important. This thesis focuses on privacy in relation to one of the most emerging technologies, drones. 

    Drones have been discussed frequently in both governmental and commercial sectors for its inevitable normalization in the airspace. Previously privacy and drones has been researched and discussed from the point of view of which drones are used to infringe on people’s privacy. This thesis explores privacy from another point of view, the view of the drone owner. By exploring privacy from the drone users’ point of view, this thesis shows the importance of better privacy measurements by proposing a conceptual model to existing popular privacy definitions. To investigate privacy in this context, a case has been conducted which proved and validated what kind of data is at risk of being hijacked. The thesis provides a conceptual model that aims to help commercial drone owners to analyze how privacy infringements can occur, why they could occur and how to account for them in the future. Furthermore, the thesis highlights the vulnerability that WIFI dependent devices poses with DDoS attacks. The findings of this thesis show that an infringement of privacy regarding commercial drones requires more clear privacy regulations and definitions, as well as highlighting privacy vulnerabilities in commercial drones.

    Abstract [en]

    The rapid pace with which software needs to be built, together with the increasing need to evaluate changes for end users both quantitatively and qualitatively calls for novel software engineering approaches that focus on short release cycles, continuous deployment and delivery, experiment-driven feature development, feedback from users, and rapid tool-assisted feedback to developers. To realize these approaches there is a need for research and innovation with respect to automation and tooling, and furthermore for research into the organizational changes that support flexible data-driven decision-making in the development lifecycle. Most importantly, deep synergies are needed between software engineers, managers, and data scientists. This paper reports on the results of the joint 5th International Workshop on Rapid Continuous Software Engineering (RCoSE 2019) and the 1st International Workshop on Data-Driven Decisions, Experimentation and Evolution (DDrEE 2019), which focuses on the challenges and potential solutions in the area of continuous data-driven software engineering.

    Abstract [en]

    Crack growth and crack path under a fracture mechanical experiment in polycarbonate is studied. The material, a polycarbonate, is photo elastic witch makes it possible to do an optical stress field analysis. The crack path and crack branching is also predicted by an adaptive finite element analysis. The crack growth is a result of stress induced, chemically activated material dissolution that completely determines the geometry of the specimen, including the shape and length of the crack. In this case, the mechanisms and processes leading to crack growth are assumed to be incorporated in a general material dissolution process. As a consequence of this assumption there is no need for a crack criterion or crack path hypothesis. The lack of crack path criterion imposes an arbitrary length scale where the crack width scales with the square of the applied load but the crack growth rate is independent of the load. Numerical calculations suggest that the crack is capable of branching and that the branches will continue to grow at the same rate as the original crack. The numerical results are verified by the photo elastic experiments and a reasonable agreement is established.

    Kunskapsöversikten syftar till att undersöka orsaken till flickors låga intresse för teknikundervisning. Undersökningen leder till förslag på förbättringar som lärare kan implementera i sin undervisning för att gynna flickors teknikintresse. Målet med kunskapsöversikten är att flickor ska utveckla en positiv syn på teknikundervisning. Forskningen inom ämnet är begränsat och fokuserar oftast på äldre elever. Detta är relevanta anledningar till att granska den information som finns om yngre elever.

    Frågeställningarna besvaras genom informationssökning i databaserna ERIC och ERC. Diverse sökord kombinerades för en systematisk sökning med användning av trunkering, citat och boolesk sökteknik. En sekundärsökning har också gjorts utifrån en utvald forskningsartikels referenslista. Sammanlagt har 18 tidskriftsartiklar och rapporter valts ut. Eftersom forskning kring mellanstadieflickors intresse i teknikämnet är begränsad har även studier som inriktar sig på andra skolstadier använts. 

    Resultatet tyder på att det finns flera anledningar till att flickor har ett lågt intresse för teknik och undervisning i ämnet. Några av dem är att det finns stereotypiska bilder av vad ämnet innebär och hur individer ska se ut samt vara. Teknik anses vara ett maskulint ämne och flickor påpekar att de inte förstår exakt vad teknik är. Flickor har därför ett lågt självförtroende i teknik och de är rädda för att göra fel. Resultatet beskriver också ett flertal förslag på metoder, till exempel synliggörande av teknikämnet, könsneutrala uppgifter och varierade arbetsmetoder, som lärare kan arbeta utifrån för att skapa och öka flickors intresse för teknikämnet. Lärare behöver vara medvetna om flickors låga intresse för teknikundervisningen, för att kunna ge så likvärdig undervisning som möjligt. Teknikuppgifter bör även vara neutrala och inte typiskt pojkiga eller flickiga. Flickor gynnas av mer stöd och uppmuntran från teknikläraren. Genom kvinnliga förebilder i ämnet bygger flickor förståelse för att teknik inte är maskulint och att de själva kan lära sig och lyckas i ämnet.

    Denna uppsats är en interventionsstudie om spelifiering. Studien har genomförts på en högstadieskola och den inriktar sig mot ämnet teknik. Totalt gick 73 elever från fyra olika klasser med på att delta i studien. Eleverna deltog i en lektion med digital spelifiering och i en analog lektion. Efter varje lektion gjorde eleverna en undersökning om deras motivation och måluppfyllelse. Syftet med studien var att se hur noggrant utformad spelifiering skulle kunna påverka motivation och måluppfyllelse. Resultatet av undersökningen sammanställdes i diagram. Därefter jämfördes resultaten med kontrollgrupper. Detta resulterade i ett förväntat resultat av elevernas motivation. Eleven tyckte mer om att medverka i en spelifierad lektion än i en vanlig analog lektion. Å andra sidan visade eleverna en något lägre måluppfyllelse efter att de medverkat i den spelifierade lektionen jämfört med att medverka i en vanlig analog lektion. Därför kan användningen av noggrant utformad spelifiering i en högstadieskola i ämnet teknik anses ha både positiva och negativa effekter. Beroende på om motivation eller måluppfyllelse är det eftersträvade målet så kan läraren anse att spelifiering är användbart eller inte. Resultaten av studien kan förbättras med ytterligare forskning.

    Current heavy vehicles are equipped with hundreds of sensors that are used to continuously collect data in motion. The logged data enables researchers and industries to address three main transportation issues related to performance (e.g. fuel consumption, breakdown), environment (e.g., emission reduction), and safety (e.g. reducing vehicle accidents and incidents during maintenance activities). While according to the American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI), the operational cost of heavy vehicles is around 59%59% of overall costs, there are limited studies demonstrating the specific impacts of external factors (e.g. weather and road conditions, driver behavior) on vehicle performance. In this work, vehicle usage modeling was studied based on time to determine the different usage styles of vehicles and how they can affect vehicle performance. An ensemble clustering approach was developed to extract vehicle usage patterns and vehicle performance taking into consideration logged vehicle data (LVD) over time. Analysis results showed a strong correlation between driver behavior and vehicle performance that would require further investigation.

    Strängsökning användas i stor utsträckning i bioinformatik, IT-säkerhet (nätverksintrångdetektion) och för sökning av en söksträng i en text mm, därför utvecklades senaste åren stort antal söksträng algoritmer. Denna uppsats handlar om praktisk implementering av följande stängsökningsalgoritmer: Brute-force, Boyer-Moore och Knuth-Morris-Pratt algoritmer med syftet att jämföra hur algoritmens effektivitet påverkas av typ av data och storlek på söksträng. Mått på algoritmernas effektivitet är antal jämförelser som algoritmerna utför. Det är tre typer av text som används för tester: slumpmässigt genererad text som innehåller ettor och nollor som tecken, text som representerar DNA sekvens som består av ett alfabet med fyra bokstäver och en text som innehåller tecken från engelska alfabetet. Resultatet visar hur algoritmernas effektivitet ändras med olika typ av data och förklarar vad i algoritmernas operationssätt som ligger bakom de uppmätta resultaten.

    Abstract [en]

    The consumers of today have become used to a constant flow of new content. Whether the content being music, film and series, games or other forms of media. This has created a strain on the developers and creators, to create new and original content for an ever demanding audience. Creating original content can be a costly and time consuming process. Today there are tools to help in this process, many that build on the idea of procedurally generated content. But with these tools alone it can be hard for the creator to leave their mark on the content, since most of it will look all the same from the same tool. 

    We propose CLAPPY, or Collaborative Learning Algorithm for Predicting Personal Yield. The AI colleague that will learn the patterns of the creator, and help them express themselves in their content, regardless of the tool. 

    Controlled experiments were conducted where subjects were given a content creation tool in the form of a terrain generator for games. The thesis then compares the results of the content creation tool when the subjects used it on their own and with an AI-collaborator.

    Simulation modelling is becoming increasingly more common for resource allocation evaluation in a multitude of domains, a few among them being healthcare and emergency medical services. With increased usage follows the most frequent problems regarding simulation, one being usability, that is to say the ease with which the system is operated. When building simulation frameworks the concept of usability is often relegated to an afterthought, with a focus instead on making accurate representations of real world scenarios. Occurrences like these are part of an industry wide trend despite the correlation between usability of a simulation framework and their effectiveness being well documented. This thesis studies what major factors are causing low usability in simulation frameworks and how usability could be improved. This is done through a case study of a simulation framework using the fail fast method, where the results and their applicability on simulation in general is analysed and evaluated using established checklists. Major weaknesses were categorised in properties that the simulation framework was lacking in and design principles were defined regarding propagation of synergistic solutions pertaining to usability. The studied simulation framework's usability was improved by increasing the qualities of these properties while adhering to design principles that were specified from the analysis. User test showed a reduction in execution time of tasks by 90 percent, a marked improvement that lends credibility to the study.

    Video games often include various creatures within their games, these creatures often give the world in which they inhabit a richer experience for the player. Creating these creatures can be costly, to lower these costs procedural content generated creatures could be used instead. Creatures created with PCG will have a lower upfront cost but comes with the downside of less control without a large amount of testing. This is a problem, what we have tried to do is lessening the amount of time needed to achieve the desired level of perfection. In this paper we have tried to find patterns which will further help the use of procedural content generated creatures. The game Forest Moon will be introduced to gather data and to find pattern of how players interact from various visual cues. With the data we have gained further understanding on how players react and what kind of emotions they feel when certain visual cues are presented.

    Abstract [en]

    This study aim to investigate the implementation and utilization of welfare

    technology in elderly care, focusing on its benefits and risks by identifying

    knowledge gaps and challenges through previous research and our own data

    collection. By interviewing caregivers we tried to capture their perspective of

    both benefits and challenges to find out the optimal way to use welfare

    technology. The study also aimed to contribute to a better understanding of

    how welfare technology can be effectively and safely integrated to improve the

    quality of life for the elderly and facilitate caregivers’ work.

     

    The findings of this study demonstrate that the use of welfare technology is

    advantageous for both care recipients and caregivers when used with care.

    These technologies enhance the safety and independence of care recipients

    while enabling efficient resource usage for caregivers. Increased independence

    for caretakers reduces the daily visits for medication and supervision, freeing

    up resources to provide care and support where it is most needed. Combined

    with the use of technical aids, such as cameras and sensors, it enables

    caregivers to streamline their work.

     

    However, it is crucial not to view welfare technology as a solution to the

    caregiver shortage but rather as a complement to provide the best possible

    care while ensuring that the caregiver personnel are sufficient.

    Under den rådande situationen med pandemin Covid-19 skedde en digitalisering i snabb takt. Denna typ av tvångsdigitalisering har förändrat arbetsmarknaden och genomförandet av utbildningar. Marknaden är enligt tidigare forskning ofta negativt inställd till digital undervisning. Hur väl stämmer företags behov överens med digitala utbildningars utbildningsplan? Syftet är att undersöka hur digitala utbildningar på universitetsnivå riktade mot praktiska yrken kan optimeras för att digitala studenter ska nå högre studieresultat och samtidigt möta marknadens uppleva behov. För att uppfylla syftet genomförs en tvådelad empirisk undersökning det vill säga semistrukturerade intervjuer med praktiskt inriktat företagsunderlag, dess upplevda behov vid nyanställning och genom kartläggning av olika utbildningsplaner analyseras hur digitala utbildningar kan utvecklas. 

    Det finns utbildningsformer som bättre lämpar sig för digitala studier och det finns utbildningsformer som är bättre lämpade för skolsalsundervisning. Den mest lämpliga utbildningsformen utifrån resultatet av datainsamlingen är ett mellanting mellan digital och skolsalsundervisning, så kallad blended learning som kan skapa förutsättningar för ett mer utvecklat lärande i framtiden. Blended learning innebär att det finns både inslag av digital och fysisk närvaro, där det går att anpassa vilken form som väljs till de olika momenten som ska genomföras. Samhället som utvecklas idag kräver en större digital kompetens vilket resulterar i en större digital mognad, därför är en viktig aspekt att diskutera hur framtidens utbildning ska utformas för att på så sätt uppnå de modifierade kunskapskraven som krävs.

    Profiling users online and directed online advertising has become a major business with companiessuch as Google and Facebook as frontier companies. Through incidents such as the CambridgeAnalytica scandal, the public has started to take notice of both the positive and the negative sides of thebusiness. The data given to companies with a data driven business model can make the user experiencemore personalized and therefore better. On the other hand the data collected could be seen as privacyreducing and exploitation of users. This study aims to foresee opportunities and new ways to develop adata driven business model which has the user's interests in mind and still remains profitable. Withempirical data through interviews and theories the study will show that data driven business modelshave big potential to be profitable and simultaneously make the user more aware or even make datadelivery in the user’s best interest. The main methods to do this is by implementing privacy dashboards,transparency and moving the pieces in the business model to make the user central in the businessmodel.

Denna intervjustudie undersöker hur ett svenskt e-handelsföretag använder Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) och interaktionsdesign på sin webbplats och i sin marknadsföring, för att förbättra användarupplevelsen. Semistrukturerade intervjuer genomfördes med marknadsförare, utvecklare och kunder för att analysera deras åsikter i förhållande till teorin. Studien identifierar centrala aspekter som skapar förtroende och tillit. Resultatet indikerar att intuitiv och användarvänlig design samt säkerhetsåtgärder, är avgörande för att bygga kunders förtroende. Vidare belyser studien företagets effektiva användning av omnichannel-strategi, trots avsaknaden av fysisk butik. Sömlös interaktion framstår som en kritisk faktor för kundernas förtroende.

    In the dynamic realm of business, effective inventory management plays a pivotal role in the success of organizations. This study explores the feasibility of applying ma- chine learning (ML) models in predicting inventory funding needs through a case study at Polestar, a leading electrical vehicle (EV) brand. Adopting an inductive approach with an exploratory sequential design, the research commences with qualitative data acquisi- tion followed by quantitative analysis. Six individuals at Polestar, whose responsibilities are intertwined with forecasting inventory funding needs, participated in qualitative inter- views. Subsequently, insights from these interviews informed the quantitative phase, where data sourced from Polestar was employed in ARIMA (AutoRegressive Integrated Moving Average), RFR (Random Forest Regression), and XGBoost (Extreme Gradient Boosting) algorithms—identified through literature review as top performers in analogous contexts. Notably, XGBoost exhibited superior performance in terms of Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE), while RFR boasted the highest accuracy rate in predicting actual funding requirements, a point elaborated upon in the following analysis. Anticipating future im- plementation of ML, the study outlines key considerations for focus and further research based on findings from both the qualitative and quantitative study.

    The COVID-19 pandemic has in many ways changed how we live our lives. As a means to decrease the risks, working at a distance is now common for most employees during the pandemic. A problem that has arisen is getting overall information on how employees well-being and productivity has been affected by the new forced work environment. The primary part of this study is to identify the current effects of remote work on employees at an engineering consultancy company, active in the field of consulting engineering, environmental technology and architecture in Sweden through a web-based survey and compare the results to previous studies on the subject of remote work. A secondary objective of this study was to develop a smartphone application with the goal of increasing the physical activity of employees currently working from home.

    A secondary part of this study was to identify a problem specific to remote work, and to come up with a technical solution to the problem through prototyping, development and testing.

    The survey's results revealed that Sweco management (where the survey was conducted) provided sufficient resources in order to preserve and enhance the general well-being of its workers who currently work from home, but they struggled to distinguish work and home life, as do many others in similar circumstances.

    Respondents also reported a higher workload and less physical exercise during the work day. Employees at the company reported higher levels of well-being and productivity than participants in other international studies.

    Although the company has taken precautions to improve the working conditions of its workers, further research into the subject is encouraged to see whether they stand out in their investment in their employees' well-being or whether they are simply following the pattern set by other businesses in the same sector.

    Abstract [en]

    PURPOSE – Nowadays, thanks to conditions such as agile manufacturing (e.g., using affordable machines like 3-D printers, laser cutters, small CNCs or Pick & Place), low production costs and quick execution cycles, it is easier to turn ideas into a finished product ready to be distributed. Joi Ito, the director of the MIT Media Lab, created the slogan ‘Deploy or die’ precisely to encourage the researchers of the lab to take these conditions into consideration and to push their projects up to the production stage (and thus beyond the creation of a demo). This paper examines how design is used at the Media Lab to support this ‘deploy or die’ approach and, consequently, to foster entrepreneurial processes fuelled by the research activities of the lab. The paper contends that design activities - such as user research and user testing, rapid and frequent prototyping, visualization techniques, co-design, attention to the brand experience – contribute in igniting and sustaining the ‘deploy or die’ approach. APPROACH – The study is the result of an investigation - also based on ethnographic methods – conducted by the author in the city of Cambridge, MA across 2011 and 2014. The application of an ethnographic approach with the direct involvement of researchers in the field has proven to be a common element of a good number of recent studies on organizations (Czarniawska 2012). ORIGINALITY – The study contributes to the ongoing discussions on how design can support entrepreneurship, with particular reference to the area of academic entrepreneurship. PRACTICAL IMPLICATIONS –The paper contends that design activities contribute in igniting and sustaining the ‘deploy or die’ approach and, consequently, could be adopted by research organizations to support operations in the area of academic entrepreneurship.

    Till följd av den enorma digitalisering av både samhälle och skolväsendet som skett sedan 90-talet är det allt större konkurrens om individens uppmärksamhet och impulskontroll. En till synes ökande trend i bristande koncentrationsförmåga uppmärksammas nu inom utbildnings-väsende och forskning.

    Arbetets syfte är att finna, utveckla, sammanställa och testa enkla studietekniska metoder som elever i studieförberedande program kan använda för att öka andelen produktiv tid vid självstudier, till den grad eleven själv önskar att uppnå. I första hand bör de studietekniska metoderna vara relativt lätta för eleverna att komma ihåg. 

    I studiens första led undersöktes lärarnas uppfattning av vilka studietekniska metoder och lösningar som potentiellt har positiv inverkan på elevernas framgång och studieförmåga. 

    De identifierade studieteknikerna; Pomodoro och Do Not Disturb-läge, lärdes därefter ut på gymnasiets teknik-, naturvetenskapliga- och International Baccalaureate-program, och elevernas uppfattning av dessa mättes kvantitativt och jämfördes med univariatanalys.

    Som resultat uppdagades och analyserades relativ elevnöjdhet med studieteknikerna.

    Because of the pandemic Coronavirus and proposals from the Swedish Public Health Agency, schools in Sweden had to adjust their teaching to distance education. The purpose of this study is to study students' motivation, understand what is inspiring for students, many students lack inspiration. Personalization in education, what kind of support could we give the students. Understand personalization from the students perspective different students need different help, make the students feel like they get personalized help. Hands on, how do we apply things that are theoretical to the practical. Through semi-structured interviews, this study has analyzed how students have experienced distance education, difficulties, barriers, opportunities among others have been looked at. The teaching followed essentially the same pattern. The teachers and students followed the same schedule as the pre-transfer,  and had contact through a video call. From that point forward, the teacher had some type of show of new material, through a  live video call. At that point the student generally followed up with working on their own, where they had the chance to contact the teacher to pose questions. The results of this study showed that online education had a negative effect on the quality of teaching. The students felt a lack of motivation and a greater personal responsibility. There were also some positive aspects of online education as it could be more adaptable and suit more students. Travel time could be reduced and the time could be spent on something else. The idea of having an online education platform was a positive idea for most of the students. As working with a real company and gaining real life experience where school sometimes can lack was seen as a positive aspect.

    The use of e- and m-health tools has increased more and more in the health care sector and the digital tools are seen as a cost-effective use of communication for health-related areas. Even today, many people do not receive treatment for their allergies as they are not aware of their condition and it can lead to deteriorating quality of life that affects important factors in life. This study proposes a way to help physicians treat patients with airborne allergies more effectively. The study's developed prototype should, through collected patient data, be able to create a basis for simplifying doctors' work process for patients with airborne allergies. Using the Design and Creation research method and the research steps suggested by the method, a prototype was developed and evaluated. The prototype works in such a way that the first step is an initial survey where the user is identified as a patient or not depending on what you answer. After this step, you create an account and answer a more in-depth survey that the doctor can see. Then the patient immediately logs his general condition which is shown in a graph and based on the graph and the deep survey, the patient receives an individual care plan from the doctor. Evaluation of the developed prototype was done through semi-structured interviews with doctors. The results showed that a digital care application can be used to simplify and streamline doctors' work process regarding patients with airborne allergies. The results also showed that the prototype can be used as a data collection tool to prepare doctors for a care visit, but also that there was some lack of functionality in the application. The conclusion that is drawn is that it is entirely possible to improve doctors' work process with the help of a digital care application for patients with airborne allergies. The study's research grant can provide inspiration for the development of similar applications or further research in the field of e-health for patients with airborne allergies and its impact on doctors' work process.

    Gamification was presented in 2008 however began getting footing in 2010. The reason for gamification is to apply game standards and game mechanics that has been created in the previous thirty years in game turn of events and apply these on every day errands, work and education with the purpose to increase the students interest and motivation to the activity that is gamified. The purpose of this thesis is to research on how to design an online education platform through gamification. A case study has been used to satisfy the point of the investigation.  In this study, we have depicted what gamification is and how it very well may be applied in a learning climate to drive and connect with students. We have taken as our beginning stage a report from the Swedish Schools Inspectorate which shows that students in the present school experience the ill effects of an absence of motivation and intriguement. Hence, our motivation with this study has been to explore whether this learning point of view can work as an apparatus/strategy to expand students responsibility and motivation and whether it can include support for students learning. The investigation gives various instances of elements and mechanics utilized in games and which capacities and capabilities they have and what they can mean for students' inspiration. This work is important because it can be used to make the education system more interactive for the students in a way to engage and motivate them to perform better in school.
