Abstract [en]

Abstruct

This research examines the transformative shifts in Saudi Arabia's foreign policy under Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, particularly within the framework of Vision 2030. It explores whether Saudi Arabia's strategic rebalance and foreign policy acts, categorize it as a 'status quo' or 'revisionist' power. By scrutinizing changes in its strategic relations, especially with China and the United States, alongside the Kingdom's role in regional dynamics and its emerging partnerships with other global powers, this study aims to understand the underlying motivations and outcomes of its foreign policy directions.

Key to this analysis is the assessment of how Vision 2030 influences Saudi Arabia’s international stance. This ambitious plan not only aims to diversify the Saudi economy but also appears to realign its global partnerships, reflecting a nuanced balance between maintaining existing alliances and forging new ones in a multipolar world. The research draws on a comprehensive review of academic literature, policy analyses, and recorded interview, employing a comparative case study approach to provide a nuanced perspective on Saudi Arabia’s role in the international arena.

The findings are expected to contribute to the discourse on Middle East geopolitics by elucidating the Kingdom's strategic decisions in the context of global economic and political shifts, highlighting its balancing act between regional and global dynamics. This study will help policymakers and scholars better understand the evolving landscape of international relations influenced by Saudi Arabia's actions during a pivotal period of its development.
