Syfte: att belysa patienters upplevelser av omvårdnad vid svårläkta sår för att synliggöra de faktorer som har betydelse för sårläkning. 

Bakgrund: Svårläkta sår påverkar människans psykiska, fysiska, samt mentala välbefinnande. Det finns endast ett fåtal studier som utforskar patienters upplevelser av svårläkta sår från patientperspektivet.

Metod: en litteraturstudie med kvalitativ design. 

Resultat: Deltagarna hade en negativ inställning till svårläkta sår. Sår-relaterade smärtor, lukter, gångsvårigheter, arbetslöshet samt problem i sociala relationer  påverkade deltagarnas mentala och fysiska hälsa. Detta påverkade i sin tur deltagarnas livskvalitet på ett negativt sätt. Deltagarna försökte att bibehålla sin livskvalitet med hjälp av nutrition, mobilisering, livsstil, coping strategier och ville vara inkluderade i sin egen sårvård tillsammans med hälso-och sjukvårdspersonal.

Slutsats: Vikten av egenvård, patientundervisning, noggrann och omsorgsfull hantering av sårbehandling, besöksplanering, personcentrerad vård samt ett holistiskt synsätt på patienten togs upp. Sjuksköterskans uppgift är att få patienter att bli hörda samt försnabba deras återgång till ett normalt liv.

Aim: to explore patients’ experiences of chronic wound care in order to detect factors that are essential for wound healing.

Background: Hard-to-heal wounds affect a person's psychological, physical and mental well-being. There are just a few studies that explore patients' experiences of hard-to-heal wounds from the patient's perspective.

Methods: a literature study with a qualitative design.

Results: Participants had a negative attitude towards hard-to-heal wounds. Severe pain, wound smell, walking problems, unemployment as well as problems in social relations related to their wounds worsened the psychological, physical and mental health of the patients. This in turn affected the participants' quality of life in a negative way. Participants tried to maintain their quality of life with the help of nutrition, mobilization, lifestyle and coping strategies and wanted to be included in their own wound care together with healthcare professionals.

Conclusions:The importance of wound self-management, patient education, better  planning, patient-centered care and a holistic approach were addressed. The nursing task is to make patients feel heard and help them return to normal life.
