Denna studie undersöker hur podcasts ska utformas i utbildningssyfte samt utreder vilka designelement som är mest centrala för podcasts inom utbildning. Genom att ha producerat en podcast för utbildningssyfte som designats efter de ramverk och teori som tidigare forskning angett, kunde dessa element undersökas och analyseras praktiskt. Empirin i denna undersökning har samlats in via enkätundersökningar och kvalitativa fokusgruppsintervjuer från de respondenter och deltagare som tagit del av podcasten. Resultatet formade ett ramverk för design av podcasts inom högre utbildning. Utifrån de tekniska parametrarna inom podcastdesign och utformning av avsnittets innehåll genererade resultatet två kategorier som är av störst betydelse för positiva upplevelser hos studenterna. Den första är studenternas attityder och förväntningar som inkluderar design för att uppnå ett professionellt intryck och design anpassat för studenternas mottagande. Den andra är podcasten i relation till studenternas studievanor som berör designval kopplat till att bibehålla fokus, anpassa avsnittet till kursens innehåll och att ta hänsyn till att det utförs parallella aktiviteter i samband med att studenter lyssnar på podcasts.

This study examines how podcasts should be designed for educational purposes and investigates which design elements are most central to educational podcasts. By producing an educational podcast designed according to the frameworks and theories provided by previous research, these elements could be practically examined and analyzed. The empirical data for this study was collected through surveys and qualitative focus group interviews from the respondents and participants who accessed the podcast. The results formed a framework for the design of podcasts in higher education. Based on the technical parameters of podcast design and the content of the episodes, the results generated two categories that are of greatest significance to students' experiences. The first category is students attitudes and expectations, which include design elements aimed at achieving a professional impression and design tailored to students' reception. The second category is the podcast in relation to students study habits, which involves design choices related to maintaining focus, aligning the episode with the course content, and considering simultaneous activities.
