This thesis explores how an accessibility annotation kit can support designers and communicate accessibility specifications to developers.
There are laws and accessibility standards, such as WCAG, that many products need to comply with. Complying with these standards can be problematic since they can be hard to interpret. Higher education is also not providing sufficient accessibility training. There are several resources to help meet the required standards. One type is accessibility annotation tools.
Using qualitative research methods and a user-centered design process using design activities such as interviews, ideation, prototyping, and usability testing, an annotation tool was explored to see how it could contribute to support and communication.
The conclusions made from the project are that annotation kits have the potential to enhance communication and support designers in their design process.
