It is a well-known fact that language plays a crucial part of the relationship between coaches and athletes. Through language, coaches educate and transfer knowledge to the athletes. Not only that, in this paper I will also suggest that coaches create sporting subjects.
That said, there is an ethically complicated asymmetrical relationship between coaches and athletes that needs to be addressed. In this paper, I will draw attention to some of those complications. However, I will also suggest that the most common ethical theories can be limiting for a deeper understanding of the relationship between coaches and athletes.
