Exclusive citizenship : Text analysis of positive and negative opinions from different actors (English)
Abstract [en]

For many years, the various parties in Sweden have been discussing whether a languagetest should be introduced as a requirement to obtain Swedish citizenship. This is toimprove integration and that everyone who lives in Sweden should master the Swedishlanguage. On the other hand, linguists do not agree that a language test is the solution tobeing integrated into a society. The research is also very deficient in the field to be ableto say that a language test is a key to society. The purpose of this study is to set twoperspectives against each other and then analyze what the underlying factors really are.Is it about increasing the individuals' language skills or is it a way to reduce theattraction to Sweden? Carol Bacchi's method will be used to analyze the newspaperarticles and understand the message in the texts.
