The purpose of this essay has been to investigate how a couple of teachers work with newreligious movements in religious education in high school and challenges that may occur.To achieve this purpose, three questions were formed which were answered through semistructured interviews and a phenomenological analysis. The results show that new religiousmovements are not taught to the same extent as other religions due time issues. Teachersdo not have time to teach the new religious movements on a deeper level, furthermore thisissue may have consequences for the Swedish guidelines for religious education.
