Detta examensarbete har karaktären av ett utvecklingsarbete, där slutresultatet mynnar ut i en tematisk planering för historieämnet i en högstadieklass. Det essentiella syftet med uppsatsen är att eleverna ska utveckla ett kritiskt förhållningssätt gentemot medievärldens och samhällets normerande diskurser. Genom att pedagogen tillsammans med sina elever aktivt problematiserar stereotypa framställningar av vad som anses kvinnligt respektive manligt, kan elevernas reflekterande utvecklas. Det teoretiska ramverket som appliceras på och används i den tematiska lektionsplaneringen innefattar historiedidaktisk forsknings teoretiserande av historiemedvetande, samt genus- och klassteori. Teorierna är utvalda med syftet att ifrågasätta och synliggöra reproducerande perspektiv och strukturer i skolan, samt skapa underlag för konkreta arbetssätt med högstadieelever.

This study has the characteristics of a development work where the result of the study is a thematic lesson plan in the discipline of history for students between the ages of fourteen and sixteen. The aim of the study is to help students develop a critical attitude towards the mass communication industry and the normative standards of society. By working actively with problematizing gender stereotypical constructions, the pedagogue will assist his or her students in developing their contemplative minds. The theoretical model that is applied on and utilized in the thematic lesson plan consists of history didactical research theorization concerning history consciousness, as well as gender and class theory. The chosen theories are selected with the intention to question and clarify reproducing perspectives and structures in school, but also to create a basis for concrete ways of working with students between the ages of fourteen and sixteen.
