Folkhögskola - en inkluderande verksamhet. Åtta deltagare berättar om sin skolgång

Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

A study in the special education field, where eight young adults from the folk high school, Common course, tells of all their schooling and what factors influenced their studies, both positive and less positive. The study was conducted through semi-structured interviews with a hermeneutic interpretation perspective. The stories show the importance of the teacher's commitment and the importance of being able to adapt to the participant level. To be who you want and be accepted, included in a context, was also a key success factor for studies and several just found at the folk high school. You felt included at the folk high school. The Community of the group and the security of being able to say their opinion seem as a turning point in their personal development. Participants talked about how they between regular school and folk high school found motivation to start studying again after less interesting jobs or unemployment. Participants in the study confirmed that the developed much both personally as in terms of knowledge.
