Abstract [en]
Due to the change in society and increase in diversity it has been challenging for teachers to educate the new generation. The schools are filled with pupils with different cultural backgrounds. Multiculturalism has become a huge subject which dominated schools around Sweden. According to the teachers curriculum students must learn about religions from all around the world. The curriculum is aiming to give an equivalent education for all children and students. In this study we examine research concerning the multiculturalism in the classroom. Our question at issue is: Which didactics methods can be used to increase the interest and inclusion in a multiculturalism classroom?
Information was collected through the databases of university of Malmö, like Ebscohost, Libguides and Google schoolar. The collected information we applied in this study is peer-reviewed because it ensured that the information is reliable. The results show that the methods that can be used to increase the interest and conclusion in a multiculturalism classroom are: personal meetings, interviews, excursions, shaping the teaching into an individual-level perspective, study visits and the fact that as a teacher you value the meeting between yourself and the student by listening and being open to students' comments and experiences and acting as guides for open discussions.
