In this paper we have studied what different researchers have discovered when using different digital tools when teaching subjects related to religion. This paper is based on both Swedish and international research. Firstly, most of the Swedish researchers were positive towards using digital tools in Swedish schools and in religion education. Some of the researchers even remarked on the importance of having teachers expand their own knowledge about digital tools, such as Skype, 360-degree videos, Virtual Reality (VR), online discussion forums and digital role-play. However, one of the Swedish researchers highlighted that very little support exists for disabled students and their use of digital tools. Secondly, the international researchers showed both hesitation and positivity towards using different digitals tools in schools when teaching about religion. Overall, this paper gave us a clear image of how digital tools can be used in a religion studies class and how important it is for teachers to have knowledge about different digital tools that works in a teaching environment.
