Abstract [en]

The purpose behind this assignment is that review scientific texts to get an answer to our question that is Why is it important to work with cultural meetings in the teaching of social studies and how can this approach develop the students' social knowledge? Since we live in a multicultural society, we have chosen to investigate why it is important to work with cultural meetings in social education. In today's situation, students meet students with other cultures every day they do not even notice and understand why the other behaves as it does. Pupils who do not have knowledge of other pupils' cultures lead to collisions when they meet and do not have an understanding of the other's way of life. Therefore, we as prospective teachers have chosen to investigate why it is important to work with cultural meetings and how they develop the students' knowledge of the social topic. Further on why the students are to be taught about cultural meetings and how, you should know in the reading of the essay.
