Abstract [en]

The purpose of this text is to determine what attitudes and interests boys and girls have regarding science in school by studying research. Furthermore, the purpose is to determine what influences their attitudes and interests. The questions that are used in this text are, “What attitudes do boys and girls have towards science?”, “What interests do boys and girls have towards science”, and “What affects pupils’ attitudes towards science?” To find articles related to these questions, Google scholar and Libsearch were used as search engines. The results that were found during this study were that boys and girls have different attitudes and interests to the different subjects as science and that age is an important factor which influences both their attitudes and interests. Studies also showed that the pupils’ performance affected their attitude. Teacher conduct was another factor that was shown to have a great influence regarding the pupils’ interests and attitudes towards science.
