Abstract [sv]

Utbildning på anstalt har de senaste åren fått ett rejält uppsving i och med kriminalvårdens nyetablerade klientutbildning i form av lärcentrum på anstalterna. Denna studie kartlägger hur dessa studier organiseras, och har utförts med hjälp av intervjuer med både lärare och studerande. Studien har utförts ur ett relationellt perspektiv och verksamheten synas via individ- grupp- och organisationsnivå. Det beskrivs hur tiden på anstalt upplevs för klient och hur motivation styr deltagandet i utbildningen, samt hur undervisningsformen ställer krav på lärarrollens olika egenskaper. Avslutningsvis redovisas utvecklingsförslag avseende verksamheten och vägar att nå de intagna som för närvarande inte deltar i studier.

Abstract [en]

Education within correctional facilities has in recent years seen a huge upsurge through the newly established client education using learning centers in prisons. This study identifies how these studies are organized, and has been performed with the help of interviews with both teachers and former students. The study was conducted from a relational perspective, and the organization has been analyzed at an individual, group and organizational level. It describes how time is experienced in institutions and how motivation affects the participation in education, and how the education requires that the teacher’s role is evaluated through a different perspective. Finally, development proposals concerning the activities and ways to reach the inmates who are not currently participating in studies are presented.
