Syftet med denna uppsats är att utifrån idéerna i konfirmandmaterialet Det andra landet hitta ett sätt att arbeta kring liknande tankar i en icke-konfessionell religionsundervisning i grundskolans senare år eller gymnasiet. Det innebär att uppsatsens fokus ligger vid metod och didaktik. Uppsatsen utgörs av två delar, en teoridel med en genomgång av de teorietiska grunderna för ett didaktiskt arbete samt en praktisk del som redogör för upplägget i Det andra landet och hur detta skulle kunna föras över i skolans värld, då kallad Den andra världen. Tanken utgår från att eleven gör en resa genom olika landskap och där får besöka platser och träffa personer som är relevanta för undervisningen. Undervisningspassen, varav några finns beskrivna i uppsatsen, försöker utgå ifrån ett varierat lärande med grund i såväl upplevelsebaserat lärande, problembaserade undervisningsformer som i dialogbaserat lärande. Slutsatsen är att det är möjligt att ”avkonfessionalisera” ett konfirmandmaterial och göra om det till ett spännande arbetssätt i skolans värld.

The purpose of this thesis is to try to find a way for ideas in a material used in education of confirmands in the Church of Sweden to work in a non-confessional context i.e. the education of religion in the later years of the Swedish grundskola and gymnasium. Focus is on method and didactics. The thesis is divided into two parts, one part focuses on the basis of didactics of religion and the other practical part focuses on how the material The other Country could be transformed into a school context, and then called The other World. The idea is that the pupils make a trip through different landscapes where visit places and meet with persons relevant for the education. The lessons, which some are described in the thesis, try to show the possibility of differentiated learning based on experience, problem solving and dialogue. The conclusion is that it is possible to make the material from a confessional context work by “de-confessionalise” it and make it an exciting way to work in the school.
