Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

In this essay, the concept of alienation in relation to social workers is studied and analyzed, with BBIC as an example of a social work model that could lead to alienation. The essay has been divided into sub-areas related to the subject, which will be presented and discussed in the analysis. The initial purpose is to establish what BBIC is as well as how it is discussed in official guidelines and in previous research. This will be compared to its actual function and how social workers describe their work with BBIC. In this regard, we can say that there are different opinions. Furthermore, the study aims at identifying prevention and triggering factors for the occurrence of alienation. The result shows that documentation represents a high workload, which tends to trigger alienation. Education is considered to have both positive and negative effects on alienation in social work. The study also shows that a work experience has a positive impact on the social worker and acts as a safeguard against alienation.
