Syftet med denna studie är att belysa det som är utmärkande för sjuksköterskor och sjuksköterskestudenter enligt vetenskaplig litteratur, utifrån två frågeställningar: Vad är karakteristiskt för sjuksköterskor och sjuksköterskestudenter och vad är specifikt för sjuksköterskans yrkesroll? Resultatet presenteras utifrån teman sjuksköterskestudent, sjuksköterska - egenskaper, - yrkesroll, professionell socialisation samt sjuksköterskestudenters syn på omvårdnad. Författarnas slutsatser sammanfattar de resultat studien belyser, nämligen att varje sjuksköterska är unik.

The aim of this literature review is to illustrate the characteristics of nurses and nursing students according to scientific literature, on the basis of two questions at issue: What are the characteristics of nurses and nursing students and what is specific for the occupational role of nurses? The results are introduced from the basis of themes nursing students, nurse – characteristics, - professional role, professional socialization and nursing students view of care. The authors conclusions summarize the results that the study illustrate, videlicet that every nurse is unique.
