Bakgrund: Njuren är ett av kroppens viktigaste organ då det fungerar som ett reningsverk av slaggprodukter. Vid kronisk njursvikt förlorar njurarna sina funktioner och kan inte längre upprätthålla en normal balans i kroppen. Transplantation är en av behandlingarna som tillåter människor att till viss del återfå sin njurfunktion samt ger dem ökad livskvalitet. Syfte: Syftet med denna litteraturstudie är att beskriva hur individer upplever förändringen i levnadssätt efter en njurtransplantation. Metod: Litteraturstudie där 10 artiklar ingår som både utgår från kvalitativa och kvantitativa studier. Resultat: Upplevelsen efter transplantationen påverkas av kliniska faktorer, delade känslor, hälsan och möjlighet till arbete och utbildning. Vi kunde se geografiska skillnader bland mottagarna i studierna samt en delad oro för avstötning och påverkan av medicinska biverkningar. Konklusioner: Det finns många olika sätt för sjuksköterskan att hjälpa dessa patienter till ett bra liv och att bistå med hjälpmedel och omvårdnad för att hjälpa dem att hantera sin transplantation samt stötta vid medicinering.

Background: The kidney is one of the human body’s most important organ because it works as a natural cleaning filter and removes waste. When you get a chronic renal disease the kidney looses it´s ability to maintain the body’s normal balance. Transplantation is one of the treatments that allow people to regain their kidney function to some extent and to give them a higher quality of life. Aim: To describe how individuals experience changes in the way of living after kidney transplantation. Method: A literature rewiev where ten scientific articles are included which are both coming from qualitative or quantitative studies. Results: The experience after transplantation is influenced by clinical factors, parted emotions, health and possibility to work and education. We could see geographical differences among the recipients in the studies as well as shared concern for rejection and the outcome of medical side effects. Conclusion: There are many different ways for nurses to help these patients to a good life and to assist with means and nursing care to help them manage their transplantation and also support them with their medication.
