MS är en kronisk sjukdom som påverkar alla aspekter i en människas liv; det dagliga livet, familjerelationerna såväl som arbetslivet. Syftet med vårt arbete är att beskriva vilken påverkan MS har på det dagliga livet och hur det påverkar individen i relation med andra människor samt att beskriva vilka omvårdnadsåtgärder som krävs i denna situation. Vald teoretisk referensram är Carnevalis omvårdnadsmodell. Metoden är en systematisk litteraturstudie som grundar sig på nio vetenskapliga artiklar vilka är granskade enligt Polit et al. (2001). Resultatet visar att MS påverkar det dagliga livet och att sjuksköterskan spelar en viktig roll i vården av MS patienter. Sjuksköterskan bör göra en individuellt anpassad omvårdnadsplan för att hjälpa patienten bibehålla funktionen av det dagliga livet.

MS is a chronic disease that affects every aspect of human life; the daily life, family relations as well as working life. The aim of the study is to describe what effect MS has on the daily life and its influence on relations with other people and what nursing care is demanded. Chosen theoretical frame of reference for the study was Carnevali theories of nursing. The method in use is a systematic literature review that is based on nine articles evaluated according to Polit et al. (2001). The result revealed that MS effects the daily life and the nurse has an important role in the nursing of MS patient. The nurse should make an individual nursing plan to help each patient to keep the function of the daily life.
