Bakgrund: Att föda barn och bli förälder är en känslosam livshändelse, där flera olika behov av omvårdnad uppkommer. Målet med postpartumvård på BB-avdelning är att barnmorskor och sjuksköterskor i team med andra professioner, ska ge råd och stöd samt möta de behov av omvårdnad som följer efter en förlossning. Tidigare forskning har visat att information kring förlossning och graviditet överskuggar information om tiden efter förlossning, vilket indikerar på att mer fokus behövs på postpartumperioden. Syfte: Syftet med litteraturstudien var att belysa mödrars upplevelse av omvårdnaden på en BB-avdelning. Metod: Litteraturstudie med kvalitativ ansats. Efter att sökblock skapats med ämnesord, fritextord samt synonymer, genomfördes databassökning i PubMed, CINAHL och PsycINFO. Tolv vetenskapliga artiklar, relevanta för syftet, valdes ut och granskades, syntetiserades och sammanställdes. Analysen utfördes med inspiration av metasyntes. Resultat: Resultatet presenteras genom tre kategorier; Organisation och miljö där mödrars upplevelse påverkades av organisationens rutiner och fysiska miljö samt personalens tillgänglighet och kontinuitet, Professionell vård där kompetent vårdpersonal och tillit, individanpassad vård, positivt bemötande och överensstämmande råd framkom som betydelsefullt, Information och stöd, där information önskades vad beträffar hemgång, egenvårdsråd samt skötsel av barnet. Konklusion: Mödrar upplever att omvårdnaden på en BB-avdelning påverkas av hur organisationen är uppbyggd vad beträffar rutiner och tillgänglighet. Även kontinuitet och vårdpersonalens förmåga och möjlighet att ge personcentrerad omvårdnad påverkar. Information, överensstämmande råd och ett positivt bemötande från vårdpersonalen är betydande för mödrarnas upplevelse av omvårdnaden.

Background: Giving birth and become a parent is one of the most sensitive events in a woman's life, followed by several caring need. The ambition with postpartum care is to give new parents advice and support, and to meet the individual caring needs that follows a childbirth. The midwives and nurses, along with other professionals, work together in a maternity ward to achieve this assignment. Previous research has shown that information about childbirth and pregnancy overshadows the information regarding the time after childbirth, which indicates that more focus is required on the postpartum period. Aim: The aim of this literature study was to illuminate mothers´ experiences of nursing care in a postnatal ward. Methods: A literature study with qualitative approach. Search blocks with subject words, search terms and synonyms were created, and the database searches were conducted in PubMed, CINAHL and PsycINFO. Twelve scientific articles were viewed, synthesized and compiled. The analysis was conducted inspired by a metasynthesis. Results: Three categories emerged from the results of twelve articles; Organization and environment where mothers’ experience was affected by the organization´s routines and physical environment, as well as the staff´s availability and continuity, Professional care where competent healthcare personnel and trust, individualized care, positive attitude and consistent advice emerged as important, Information and support where information was requested regarding discharge, self-care and care of the child. Conclusion: How the organization is structured in terms of routines and accessibility, affects mothers’ experiences of nursing care postpartum. The experiences are also affected by care continuity and the ability of the staff to individualize the care. Information, consistent advice and a positive attitude from the staff are important for mothers’ experiences of nursing
