Syftet med studien var att undersöka om det fanns några speciella faktorer som gör att män söker sig till vissa områden inom vården. Totalt sex intervjuer genomfördes på ambulansen, akuten och anestesikliniken. Resultaten visade på specifika faktorer som påverkat männens yrkesval och en diskussion förs om vilka sociala strukturer som kan ligga bakom detta.

The purpose of the study was to identify what factors, if any, attracted male nurses to the following specialist areas: paramedics, anaesthesiology and the emergency ward. Six interviews were carried out, two in each of the above mentioned specialities. The findings indicated specific factors of choice. There is a discussion on what social structures may have influenced the respondents.
