Abstract [sv]

Smärtlindring av cancersjuka är ett komplext och mångfacetterat område då cancer inte bara drabbar kroppen utan även själen. För att sjuksköterskan skall kunna smärtlindra patienter på ett så effektivt sätt som möjligt måste eventuella barriärer forceras genom pedagogik. Tio vetenskapliga artiklar har använts i denna litteraturstudie för att kartlägga en del av de barriärer en sjuksköterska kan stöta på i sitt pedagogiska arbete vid smärtlindring av cancersjuka, samt på vilka sätt dessa kan forceras. Resultatet visade att för att sjuksköterskan ska kunna fungera som pedagog i omvårdnaden av patienter så måste han/hon ha goda baskunskaper samt förmågan att se vilka kunskapsbehov som finns hos patienten. Resultatet visar även vikten av att patienten har god kunskap om farmakologisk smärtlindring.

Abstract [en]

Pain management of cancer patients is a complex and multifaceted area since cancer does not only affect the body but also the soul. In order for the nurse to be able to ease the patients’ pain as efficiently as possible, eventual barriers must be removed by using pedagogy. Ten scientific articles have been used for this review to be able to map some of the barriers a nurse might come across in his/her teaching-role in cancer pain management, as well as in what way these barriers can be removed. The result showed that, in order for the nurse to function as a teacher in the caretaking of patients he/she must possess good basic knowledge as well as the ability to acknowledge the patients need for knowledge. The result also showed the importance of patient’s knowledge regarding pharmacological cancer pain management.
