Syftet med min studie är att belysa hur socialarbetare tänker kring och ser på gravida kvinnor i missbruk. För att undersöka detta har jag genomfört gruppintervjuer, så kallade fokusgrupper, med socialarbetare som arbetar med kvinnor i missbruk. Utgångspunkten för gruppintervjudiskussionerna var så kallade vinjetter, det vill säga fiktiva fall om gravida kvinnor med olika typer av missbruksproblematik. De fyra vinjetterna var utformade som fyra historier om kvinnor med olika missbruksproblematik där alla fyra kvinnor var gravida. Studien är induktiv och analysen av materialet är inspirerad av grounded theory. Studien visar att socialarbetarna arbetar utifrån en erfarenhetsbaserad teori, en så kallad praxisteori då de använder sig av sina tidigare erfarenheter inom det sociala arbetet för att lösa de uppkomna händelserna. Praxisteorin syftar även till att metoden inom det sociala arbete är påverkad av den kontext och därmed politiska och ekonomiska situation som arbetet finns i. Med andra ord att socialarbetare måste förhålla sig till de lagar som finns och samtidigt se till de resurser som finns för den enskilda individen. Samtidigt är socialarbetarens syn på gravida kvinnor i ett missbruk tydligt influerad av andra teorier så som systemteori, inlärningsteori och empowerment teori. Detta visar sig i att socialarbetarna utgår från ett individperspektiv där klienten är den som har makten samtidigt som de ser till vilka resurser och tillgångar som finns i klientens liv.

The purpose of my study is to highlight how social workers think about and look at pregnant women in the abuse. To examine this, I conducted group interviews, so-called focus groups, with social workers working with women in the abuse. The starting point for the group interview discussions was the so-called vinjetter, namely the fictitious case of pregnant women with different types of addiction problems. The four VINJETT were designed as four stories of women with different abuse problem in which all four women were pregnant. The study is inductive and the analysis of the material is inspired by grounded theory. The study shows that social workers working on an experience-based theory, a so-called practice theory when they use the its previous experience in social work to resolve the events. Practice theory aims also that the method in the social work is influenced by the context and thus political and economic situation, the work is in. In other words that social workers must respond to the laws that exist, while ensuring the resources available for the individual. At the same time, social worker approach to pregnant women in an abuse clearly influenced by other theories such as systems theory, learning theory and empowerment theory. This is reflected in that social workers from an individual perspective in which the client have the power while the socialworker look at the resources and assets in the client's life.
