Bakgrund: Sjuksköterskan stöter på sår i i yrkeslivet och för att kunna ge patienten den vård som behövs behöver sjuksköterskan dokumentera sårets egenskaper på ett adekvat sätt. Trots att dokumentation är en så pass betydande del av sårbehandling brister journalföring och kunskap om sår både hos sjuk- sköterskor och hos läkare. Syfte: Syftet med litteraturstudien var att undersöka hur digitala bilder kan bidra till sårvården. Metod: Studien genomfördes som en litteraturstudie. Populationen som studerades var patienter med sår, intervention var bild/digital sårdokumentation, resultatet var sårläkning/sårbedömning. För studiens analys- och dataredovisning användes Polit & Becks kategorisystem för att kunna redovisa statistisk data på ett icke numeriskt sätt, vilket resulterade i fyra huvudkategorier. Vid kvalitets- bedömningen användes SBU:s mall för bedömning av relevans. Resultat: I resultatet framkom 4 stycken kategorier: Förbättrad dokumentation, Bättre samverkan i och mellan teamen, En enklare sårbedömning, Utbildning för bättre sårvård. Bilder fungerar bättre än text genom att ge en tydligare bild av såret när teamet runt patienten ska titta tillbaka på hur såret såg ut och hur det har utvecklat sig. Hur såret har läkt och om behandlingen går åt rätt håll är frågor som bilder kan svara på. Författarna rekommenderar att bilder används vid sår- dokumenation och att bilderna implementeras i journalföringen.

Background: The nurse encounters wounds in daily life, and to give the patient the care that is needed requires the nurse to document the wound characteristics adequately. Although documentation is such an important part of wound treatment there are still shortages of record keeping and knowledge of wounds, both of nurses and the doctor. Aim: The aim of this study was to investigate how digital images can contribute to wound care. Methods: The study was performed as a literature study. The population studied were patients with wounds, the intervention was a photograph / digital wound documentation, the results were healing / wound assessment. Analysis and data reporting for the study used Polit & Beck category system to be able to report statistical data on a non-numerical method, which resulted in four main categories. During quality assessment SBU template were used for assessing the relevance. Results: The result showed 4 pieces categories: Improved documentation, Better collaboration within and between the teams, A simpler wound assessment, Education to get better wound care. Pictures work better than text by providing a clearer picture of the wound when the team around the patient is able to look back at how the wound looked like and how it has evolved during time. How the wound has healed, and if the treatment goes in the right direction are questions that images can answer. The authors recommend that the images used in wound documentation and pictures are implemented in record keeping.
